Announcing the 2026 Atlantic Theological Conference: “The Sublime Sermons of Anglican Poet-Priests”

Now in its 45th year, the Atlantic Theological Conference brings together people from all over the world, and from all walks of life, to hear papers and participate in discussion on issues of enduring theological importance. The Rev’d Dr. Robert Crouse was a founding member of the ATC committee and spoke annually at the conference for many years. The 2026 conference will consider the theme “The Sublime Sermons of Anglican Poet-Priests” and will take place at St. Peter’s, Charlottetown, from June 23rd-26th.

This year’s conference is a tribute to the Works of Robert Crouse project. As an exploration of the Anglicanism which defined Dr. Crouse, we shall consider, amongst others, sermons and writings of Lancelot Andrewes, John Donne, George Herbert, and Austin Farrer, all of whom were governed by poetic insights. The preacher of the conference service of Holy Communion will be the Rev’d Dr. Gary Thorne, the founder of WORC. The conference will end on Friday, June 26th, with a talk from one of WORC’s chief editors, Dr. Neil Robertson, who will give an address on “Robert Crouse and the Poetry of Preaching.”

We warmly invite those interested to attend the conference, and are offering an online livestream for those who cannot attend in-person. For further information and a full schedule, visit us online.
